Things To Consider For Your Wedding Reception Sound System
If you’ve decided to take control of the sound portion of your reception, here are some of the most important things to consider with a wedding reception sound system:
- Sound system size – make sure that you have enough power and speaker size for your expected guest count. We can help with this – if you give us a call and let us know what type of venue you are using and how many people are coming, we will ensure that you have a system that is matched to your event.
- Speaker placement – the final arrangement will depend on your intended use. If you are looking to have a traditional reception with dancing, the speakers should be located near the dance floor to provide maximum volume to the people dancing. If you are just planning on background music, the speakers should be spread out so that there is even coverage throughout your event. Most of the time, 2 speakers are plenty. If you have a unique setting or venue, we can add additional speakers to the system for more even coverage.
- Wireless microphones – these can be a great addition to the ceremony – especially for the officiant. If you are using one of our systems for both the ceremony and reception, we highly recommend a wireless microphone. If you are just using our system for the reception, it is nice to have a wireless setup, but certainly not necessary. Most of our clients will just use traditional wired microphones for announcements and best man / maid of honor speeches during the reception.
